Head Instructor Mike "Sweetfeet" Trainor, has been involved in
the sport of Kickboxing since 1997. He takes great pride in teaching the fundamentals and in seeing how it can change a student's
fitness level, confidence, and outlook on life. He has much ring experience and knows how to prepare
students who wish to compete in a full contact tournament. Trainor has competed against not only previous and
current CASK Champions, but has fought some of the Top Athletes in Canada including Micky Marshall of Truro(No.
1 in Canada, No. 3 in the World), and Mike Foley, Jr. from Newfound Land(No. 5 in Canada). At Island
Inferno II: The Heat Is On, on April 7 2007, Mike won an outstanding split decision fight against Mike
Foley, Jr. from Foley's Atlantic Martial Arts Club(St.Johns, NewfoundLand). He is currently ranked as
the 6th Top athlete in Canada in the Light Heavyweight division. Mike has just recently completed a Child
and Youth Care Worker program at Holland College, and is anxious for the re-opening of SPKA
on October 1st, 2009.
“If you’ve ever dreamed of being a Martial Artist, kickboxing is for
you.” Mike "Sweetfeet" Trainor
Trainor recently returned to the ring to fight long-time rival, the
heavy hitting Stephen Whitall on May 29, 2010 at the Sydney Night of Kickboxing XII in
Cape Breton, NS. In the first round, Trainor and Whitall exchanged heavily back
and forth, but Trainor recieved a standing 8-count near the end of the round. Half way into round two,
Whitall and Trainor stood in front of eachother and landed heavy punches and kicks, but Trainor got caught
with a looping hook to the head, which dropped him and bloodied his nose. The referee
needed the ring-side doctor's opinion for the continuation of the bout, due to Trainor's nose bleeding
profusely, but the doctor decided to halt the bout before anymore damage was done.
